DIY Projector mount bundle

Updated 18/11/2012:
Package arrived 14th of November. Every part was there just as ordered.
I did use metalmesh instead of plywood (as in tutorial).
Mount bundle was tested live at my VJ gig for Kevin last Friday.
Projector mount was easy to set up to the wall structures. It was also very quick n easy to target and fine-tune the picture. Detaching after the gig was done in minutes.

I´ll definately recommend you to buy this.
Ash from UK Light was also very helpful.

This bundle is sold at UK light webshop. Its a pity that they ship justs to UK and Estonia...
Otherwise this set would be quite easy to order. Trying to locate similair products from other webshops or from Finland.

About the Gig

Kevin has been touring with their newly released record Ebb and Flow.
I have linked here three videos from this spectacular gig!

Two other bands at this gig were Delay Trees and Absoluuttinen nollapiste.
Kevin was the only one with live visuals.

Gig was also filmed by me with a HD camera that was placed to the middle of the room,
behind light mixer. Live sounds were recorded by Teemu Korpipää.

Projector at the event was Panasonic, with xga and 6000 ansi (VGA).
Allthough projector had quite good amount of lumens, picture was quite "washed" by the lights.
However the whole set seemed very nice, with good sound, lights and smoke.
A very good gig, I say!

Patterned by Nature was commissioned by the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences (http://naturalsciences.org) for the newly built Nature Research Center in Raleigh, North Carolina. The exhibit celebrates our abstraction of nature’s infinite complexity into patterns through the scientific process, and through our perceptions. It brings to light the similarity of patterns in our universe, across all scales of space and time.

10 feet wide and 90 feet in length, this sculptural ribbon winds through the five story atrium of the museum and is made of 3600 tiles of LCD glass. It runs on roughly 75 watts, less power than a laptop computer. Animations are created by independently varying the transparency of each piece of glass.

The content cycles through twenty programs, ranging from clouds to rain drops to colonies of bacteria to flocking birds to geese to cuttlefish skin to pulsating black holes. The animations were created through a combination of algorithmic software modeling of natural phenomena and compositing of actual footage.

An eight channel soundtrack accompanies the animations on the ribbon, giving visitors clues to the identity of the pixelated movements. In addition, two screens show high resolution imagery and text revealing the content on the ribbon at any moment.

"For a while I had apocalyptic nightmares about trails of nuclear missiles in the night sky. So I aimed to recreate that strange combination of exhilaration, terror and sadness both visually and emotionally through this piece. It lead to the idea of a spacecraft leaving earth at vast speed to escape, but oddly the music also made me think of it flying through a library. So I generated the visual aspect such that, as the piece progresses, it seems as if the viewer is ever accelerating through massive corridors of books."
